S. Vilarrasa, SA. is a family owned business dedicated to yarn spinning since its founded year 1957. However, accountancy documentation dated as far back as 1853 has been known.

The activity of the company has followed an evolution from the production of canvas shoes to cotton and cotton blended spun yarns by the Open End system, passing through the jute and cotton ring spinning.

In 1970 the existing ring spinning mill was substituted with the Open end for the manufacture of 100% cotton yarns and blends with other fibres. At present 80% of the yarn produced in this way is exported to more than 20 countries all over the world.

Our company is formed by five production centres situated in Besalú (Girona) and its surroundings, producing classic and fantasy yarns available in white, ecru and all kinds of personalized colours. The principal qualities are 100% cotton, cotton/acrylic, cotton/polyester, cotton/linen and cotton/viscose.

The most common yarn applications are, knitting fabric for pullovers, socks, gloves, braid cores , household upholstery fabric, curtains, cleaning cloths and filters, etc.
